Glidden is a city located in Carroll County, Iowa. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,253.
The town is named in honor of Joseph Farwell Glidden (1813-1906) of DeKalb,_Illinois, who invented barbed wire in 1873 - patent issued in 1874. (More Info and Source)
